A Podcast About Words
Hardcover is a literary podcast where we talk about words, wherever they are! We interview local and national writers, poets, musicians, and artists to deepen our understanding of how words, in whatever medium they appear, speak to us.
Check out The Bookshelf to see a list of episodes, or visit our Blog to read more about what words we’re reading.
Hardcover started in 2014 when Brittni got an email from the campus station, CJAM 99.1 FM, looking for someone to run a spoken word program. She didn’t hesitate. Within seconds she had contacted Peter and the ball was rolling. They decided to call the program Hardcover and they started recording. So, the journey of Hardcover began.
Recording
Recording takes place in two areas. Most of the recording and production happens at Peter and Brittni’s home studio, while phone interviews often take place at the CJAM studio. Wherever they are, wild books will appear, which just makes sense for a literature podcast.
Production
After recording, Brittni will edit the episode, with Peter adding music and production afterwards. The completed episode is then sent off to CJAM and is posted on the website Monday at 4:30 pm, the same time Hardcover airs on CJAM. Brittni and Peter share the task of posting web content – sometimes having too much fun with the things they post.
